Her focus is on the personal needs of each of her clients knowing that therapeutic rapport is vital for healing. She most enjoys working with those who suffer from anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Education –
Alisha earned her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Utah State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
Experience –
Alisha got her start in the field working with youth in correctional and private rehabilitation facilities. While there, she taught the youth basic life skills and how to reach for their dreams. She got to see the “teddy-bear hearts” of young men who became entrapped in family and peer pressures of alcohol and drug abuse, thus contributing to their situation of constant care. She also got to see young women who did not care about life, make changes and then become mentors for others, graduate high school, and apply to college.
Subsequent roles Alisha held in academia and medical clinics further fueled her passion for helping people along their personal life journeys. She helped many with the daunting tasks of life and school, and taught coping skills to help in their medical care.
In 2019, Alisha began her Master’s degree as part of fulfilling her dream to becoming a counselor. During earning her degree, she completed her internships at a women’s clinic and a private practice, where she had the pleasure of working with many clients of different cultures and backgrounds. She had the honor of seeing the challenges each client faced in their healing journeys, along with their triumphs. Their commitment to improve their lives inspired Alisha to continue her mission of helping as many as she can to find joy and to be heard.
Growing Passion –
Alisha is so excited to be a counselor! Her life’s mission has always been one of service and compassion, and counseling is a sacred place of the heart. Her mission is to help those she serves to feel loved, cherished, and treasured. Life’s circumstances can alter our mindset of peace, and when we have someone who can help us make sense of the cobwebs of life, we can re-shift our perspective to something more positive and worthwhile. It has been her honor and pleasure to already have helped so many find peace, and she is looking forward to helping you with yours!
